Christiana Elfwood was the pseudonym of the late Christiane Sourvinou-Inwood, a classical scholar born in Greece, who taught Classics and Classical Archaeology at the Universities of Liverpool, Reading and Oxford, and published several books and articles on Greek religion, mythology, archaeology, women and death.

The Sibyl, or "Pythia", was the priestess of the Oracle at Delphi, widely credited with uttering prophecies inspired by the god Apollo. She's also a popular subject of historical mysteries, including the following--
