Re: Iomega Corporation

Dear Mr. Langford:
After reviewing your complaint, it appears that Iomega has provided you, free of cost, with the software necessary to install Zip Tools V.5. To the extent that you are still not satisfied with the result in this matter, you may be well advised to consult a private attorney for advice regarding your available options. The Attorney General cannot represent you individually. However, please be aware that your complaint is invaluable to us in our efforts to identify ongoing patterns or practices indicative of widespread fraud or other illegal activity. Therefore, we will continue to monitor Iomega's practices as it relates to the marketing of its products.

			Sincerely,

			Jeff Gray
			Assistant Attorney General

[Written 19 November 1996; edited 26 February 1997]:

I have no argument with this letter (though its writer can not spell Tucson). Such a response as this is really about all that I, personally and realistically speaking, had hoped to gain from that Office. However, I do feel that state attorneys general in general and this one in particular should be more actively pursuing such ongoing problems as people are having with iomega corporation, and I have said so in a

letter to U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno

There are evidently still a great many people having major problems getting the kind of support from Iomega that they feel they deserve, after having bought an Iomega product. How might this site best continue to serve those people?

Your comments and suggestions will be gratefully received, and I shall respond to them as time permits.

Incidentally, I no longer post virtually everything I get (despite whatever else you may read at this site). If I choose to post anything from now on, it will be at my own discretion. I shall continue to assume that I have your permission to post what you send, unless you request otherwise.

                          Thanks!
