     Baca [national] bill to require school bus safety belts, protect more children

     Washington, D.C. – Following two school bus crashes that resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities in the last month, Rep. Joe Baca (D-Rialto [CA 43rd District]) reintroduced legislation today to require safety belts on all school buses.

     In late 1997, dentist Alan Ross founded

"National Coalition for School Bus Safety" (NCSBS)


which revived the prior organization "National Coalition for Seatbelts on School Buses" (NCSSB) [from whose handbook most of the information at this site is derived].


     Dr. Ross remains [25 December 2006] President of NCSBS [I must add that this Website that you are now reading is not often updated --S.L.].


      All who want to help to make travel on school buses safer should join NCSBS.
