ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

It is only meet and right to acknowledge people, companies, corporations, and software tools whose contributions to this effort have been noteworthy.

PEOPLE

I am deeply indebted to Dr. Rob Jones for both his helpful and collegial attitude and his prior work.

I am just as grateful for the prior efforts by Sean McGuire.

Both May Ellam and Jean Stillwell have provided continuing encouragement and guidance.

I am also duly grateful for the prior work by David Kirk, whose Moan and Groan page remains an inspiration.

During January 1997, Telma Marroig of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, has become a very helpful colleague, offering advice regarding Web-page designs and helping with the design of images. For instance, the "Boycott iomega" image is hers. I look forward to many years of friendship with Telma.

Finally (though I am sure others will be added to this list as time permits), I am grateful to [Anonymous] who is many different people whose contributions have been remarkable in one way or another, even though their names have been withheld, for various reasons.

COMPUTER PROGRAMS

Some of the backgrounds and colors chosen for implementation at this site have been taken directly from runs of a nice program called The Color Manipulation Device 2.0, by Freely Distributable Shareware. What follows is taken directly from the program's README.TXT file:

The Color Manipulation Device 2.0 is a Windows 95 utility to help you
choose colors for your web pages.

Features -

* Fully functional with no time limits.
* Automatically builds a correct body tag.
* You can change BGCOLOR, TEXT, LINK, ALINK, and VLINK colors.
* Sample Window shows how all the colors will display together.
* Full background image support.
* Let's you save your color combinations to disk.

Installation -

Unzip the distribution file into the directory of your choosing, we
recommend cmd2. Imglib.dll, cmd.hlp and cmd.cnt should all reside in the
same directory with cmd.exe.

Run cmd.exe and enjoy!

COMPANIES AND CORPORATIONS

Iomega!

Without Iomega Corporation having produced its remarkably lovable Zip drive, while at the same time being so stupid as to shoot itself in the foot regarding user support, this Web site would have had no reason for being.

I do not know the original source of every graphic used in this work! As I am told is commonly done on the Web, I have lifted various illustrations from various sites. However, if I have stepped on anybody's toes by using anything at all that is truly proprietary, please let me know!

I do own a copy of InContext Spider(tm). Even though I have not become comfortable with using the Spider(tm) HTML editor, I often use graphics symbols from that package.

The River Internet Access CompanyHappy face! :)

I thank the Board of

The River Internet Access Company

for responding to my need for help, by raising subscribers' server-space limits from 2M to 5M, during February 1997.
