We own a four bedroom, two-story house in the woods. We love that it is close to the city but is also a safe and beautiful setting in which to raise a family. The front and back walls of the house are mostly windows, so we can enjoy the wonderful surroundings. Squirrels, deer, birds, and other small woodland creatures frequently visit our backyard. The future nursery has a view of the small bay across the street from our house. The future playroom is a large solarium between the kitchen and back yard deck. On rainy winter nights, we like to cuddle up in front of one of our fireplaces. |

We live on a quiet dead-end street close to a large park and a series of forest trails. We own part of a shared beachfront lot with a fire pit and swimming raft. We use it for neighborhood picnics and bonfires, swimming, launching small boats, and digging for clams.
We chose to move to the island because it is a perfect setting in which to raise a family. It is a community where you don’t need to lock your doors, and many women are stay at home moms. The Island is a community of farmer’s markets, artists, Christmas tree farms, theatres, and bookstores. There are many unique family traditions, such as the Halloween Pumpkin Walk, and “Christmas in the Country.” It is an amazing place for a child to learn. It has some of the best public schools in the state, the new Environmental Leaning Center, and great sports facilities. Our neighborhood preschool is child heaven. It’s a storybook building on a ten-acre farm. It has nature trails, rolling hills, an indoor pool, ponies and other farm animals, an art studio, a theatre, a children’s garden, and a great teacher-to-child ratio. Children are the number one priority in our community. We put our time and money into child-friendly projects such as a state-of-the-art skate park, swimming pool, and children’s museum. As a home, our island offers safety, fun, outstanding education, unparalleled community spirit, and plenty of nature for everyone to enjoy. |
