The 1880 Guadalupe County, Texas census list Michael as 64 years old, a farmer and that both his parents were born in Prussia, Germany.

Dorothea has a previous spouse to Michael. It is unknown if Hofmeister is her maiden name or first husbands name. There is no info available at this time. The 1880 Guadalupe County, Texas census report list her as 60 years old and born in Bramschumig, Germany with both parents born in the same place. The World Family Tree Vol 12 CD tree 2227 submitted by Marcia A. Krickhahn of CA list her birthplace as Rosenhain, Halberstadt, Magdeburg, Germany.

Dorothea appears in the 1880 Guadalupe County, Texas census and is listed as being 19 years old and born in Texas. They lived in the 1st St. Clara Settlement.

2. EMIL2 HELL (MICHAEL1) was born June 16, 1858 in Prussia, Germany, and died Abt. 1940 in Texas. He married ELISE ( ) HELL 1882.
Notes for EMIL HELL:
The 1900 census for Guadalupe County, Texas shows that Emil immigrated to the U.S. in 1887 (must be incorrect since they are also on 1880 census), that he owned his own farm and could read, write, and speak English. The census also shows that he was born 6/1854 however the 1880 census shows that he was 22 years old which put his birth year as 1858. I also have another source that list his birthdate as 16 June 1858 and I will use that date.

The 1900 census for Guadalupe County, Texas shows that Elise was born in Texas, had 7 children of which 7 were alive at the time of the census, and that she could read and write and speak English.

Notes for ANNA HELL:
There is a ANNA WAHL buried in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Marion, Texas. Dates given on birth and death are taken from her tombstone which I had visited in January 1998 and took a photo of. It was confirmed by my mother that her father Rudolph Wahl was previously married to Anna Hell.
Notes for RUDOLPH WAHL:
At the time of the 1900 Comal County census, Rudolph was living at home and was 19 years old. Rudolph was previously married to Anna Hell who died at an early age. She is buried in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Marion, Guadalupe County, Tx.
Rudolph is buried in St. John's Cemetery on New Braunfels Ave, San Antonio, TX next to his second wife Mary Koepp Wahl.
