Ferrins in the Civil War

Alcana (Wagner) Ferrin & her daughter, Maude (Ferrin) Watkins on the front porch of their Sears & Roebuck home in Wilmore, Kansas. Photo by John Edward 'Ed' Schrock. Alcana (Wagner) Ferrin & her daughter, Maude (Ferrin) Watkins of Wilmore, Kansas.     This photo is by John Edward "Ed" Schrock, who lived next door to my great grandmother in Wilmore. His daughter, Janet (Schrock) Hubbard, wrote a wonderful story about her childhood memories of "Mrs. Ferrin & Maude" that is featured on the page devoted to my great grandmother.

Todd Walker: Photographer/Artist/Teacher

Animated, colorized version of one of Todd Walker's images.

Alice Furrun, drawing by Rebecca Ann Olson The Alley Cat Song
Alice and Alcana came walking up the drive,
Just two hungry kitties, about 4 weeks alive,
And something in my head said:
"If you feed them, they will thrive",
Oh, Alley Cats, I'm so glad you could drop by.

Alice and Alcana are runnin' 'round the house,
Climbing up the curtains and chasing a catnip mouse,
And runnin' 'cross my head while I am reading on the couch,
Oh, Alley Cats, I'm so glad you could drop by!

Musical Links

If, like me, you'd prefer to have an orchidectomy performed by a starving pack of wolves than to listen to the latest Rolling Stones release, or any rap music, or the over-played bland rock & roll that has been repackaged and is being broadcast as "smooth jazz", here are some links to music I especially enjoy these days.
