Stephen Patrick Dorame June 6, 1982 - June 19, 2000
A wise person once said, "You are immortal as long as you are remembered."
Stephen is remembered for his easy smile, kind heart, and generous nature. While on this earth for only 18 short years, he was deeply loved by his family and earned the love and respect of his many friends.

Stephen’s life began in Tucson, Arizona USA on June 6, 1982. He was born the second son of Angel and Doreen Dorame. Stephen was raised along with his older brother, Michael.
Stephen developed into an exceptionally athletic, bright, and loving young man. He excelled in school as well as in sports and participated in golf, football, basketball, soccer, swimming, and his greatest love: baseball. As a boy, he played baseball in the Cactus Little League of Tucson and advanced four years in a row to play in the All Stars.
Stephen would not let being an asthmatic slow him down. At the age of 16, he was chosen to join the prestigious Devil Pups for their summer program in Oceanside, California. This invitation only program is sponsored by the United States Marine Corps and chooses boys who meet the highest standards for citizenship and physical fitness. Out of hundreds of boys from many schools, Stephen won an award in the competition for physical fitness.
Shortly after his graduation from Tucson High School and his 18th birthday, Stephen embarked on an exciting and much anticipated trip to Europe.

Traveling with former classmates and his French teacher, Stephen basked in the joy, adventure, and celebration of European culture and sites. His company was enjoyed by friends and also by the new acquaintances that he easily made while touring.
After just seven days, his glorious dream vacation turned into a nightmare. On June 13th, a speeding motorcyclist struck Stephen while he was walking in a crosswalk in Cannes. He was rushed to a hospital in Nice where he remained unconscious until he lost his battle for life on June 19, 2000.
Though it is impossible to try to make sense of the senseless, Stephen continues to be alive in the thoughts and memories of those who loved him. He left behind his parents, brothers, grandfathers, nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends.
Stephen also lives on in another special way. On March 24, 2001, during opening day ceremonies for the Cactus Little League season, family, friends, the community, and city leaders joined to dedicate the newly re-named baseball field at Freedom Park. It is now the
Stephen Patrick Dorame Field.Today, and for generations to come, family, friends, and the Tucson community will meet and play at a ball field named after a special young man who will always be remembered, Stephen Patrick Dorame.
