I designed these beads in anticipation of the New Millenium.  In the months before the turn of any century, there is considerable anxiety.  I put an open eye on every bead, and surrounded it with all kinds of textures, representing  fossils, movement and chaos.  I was asking the owners of these beads to be awake and prepared for any changes that might occur.
